Candy for Halloween, straight off a Swedish wall

Skulls are not seasonal in Sweden

Swedish candy makers sell skulls all year, which is why this shelf is deep instead of a one-week novelty. Bubs makes its foam skulls in cola, bubblegum and raspberry lemon: soft, chewy and a good deal bigger than a regular gummy. The sour gummy skulls are smaller and sharper, rolled in sour sugar, and come in cola, apple, blueberry raspberry and a pink and blue bubblegum fizz. Add the gummy eyeballs and the bowl is done. They look the part on October 31 and taste like candy people actually finish, which is more than most novelty candy can say.

Bulk Halloween candy, built for the bowl

Everything here is sold by weight, from half a pound up to two pounds a bag, and you can add as many bags as the party needs. We weighed every piece, so here is the honest math: a pound is about 28 of the big Bubs foam skulls, around 50 gummy eyeballs, or roughly 80 of the small sour skulls. The pieces come loose, the way they do on a candy wall, so this is candy for a bowl at your own party or for treat bags you fill at home. For handing out at the door, wrapped candy is the better call, and we would rather tell you that now than after it arrives.

Halloween themed candy that is not the usual lineup

A bowl of skulls and eyeballs reads as Halloween before anyone takes a piece, and nobody at the party has the same bag at home. Mix the themed shapes with anything else on the wall: something sour, something chocolate, a little salty licorice for the brave. Several of the skulls are marked vegan by their maker, and every product page carries the full ingredient list, so guests with allergies can check before they dig in. Sending candy instead of serving it? The Halloween gift box packs a pound or two of the same wall into a box with an optional card.
