BonBon Swedish Candy: Why It’s Famous, and Where Else to Get the Real Thing

By Pim's

The short answer: BonBon is the NYC candy shop that lit the Swedish candy wave in America, and their stores are worth the line. But if you are searching for their candy online, you have probably met their sold-out pages. The same wall of real Swedish candy ships from our Florida shop, scooped to order from 130+ varieties.

Why BonBon got famous

Credit where it is due: BonBon’s New York stores turned the Swedish pick n mix wall into an American phenomenon. One viral TikTok in early 2024 sent their orders from dozens to over a thousand a day, and the lines outside their shops have not really stopped since. If you are in New York, go. It is a great candy store.

The catch: getting it outside NYC

The famous part of BonBon is the in-store wall. Online is a different story: as of this writing in late August 2026, their pre-made mixes run $19 per pound, their build-your-own selection covers a small fraction of the store wall, and both were marked "coming back soon" when we checked their site. Fame is hard on inventory. None of that is a knock; it is what happens when demand outruns a wall.

What to order instead (or meanwhile)

We built Pim’s for exactly this moment. The full wall is online: 130+ Swedish candies, in stock, scooped by weight at $2 per 50 g scoop, about $18 per pound, hand-packed in Boca Raton and shipped across the US. Build your own bag piece by piece with sour meters on every candy, or start with Bubs candy, the cult brand both walls share.

BonBon vs Pim’s, honestly

BonBon has the NYC storefronts, the fame, and a beautiful brand. We have the deeper online wall, live inventory, and Florida shipping, and our own store opens in Boca Raton this fall. If you can walk to a BonBon, walk to a BonBon. If you cannot, the wall comes to you.
